THE HISTORY OF VBCA
Pastor and Sister Thorp started Virginia
Beach Christian Academy in September, 1995, as an integral part of the ministry
of the Pentecostal Life Center of Virginia Beach.
As an academic institution, VBCA has
consistently performed at the highest level of efficiency. The students not
only grow spiritually, but in knowledge and skill. Our test scores are high;
the number of lifepacs completed is extraordinary. The character building
environment is a blessing to all that attend. Those times when our students act
like "kids" become opportunities to train them and help them develop Christian
Character. Our focus is on the whole child. Attention to detail, following the
procedures manual faithfully, and depending on the Lord to grant us His Wisdom
when working with our students has made this academy one of the best.
In the past several years, we have seen many
graduates of this academy achieve their dreams. 70% of our students have
graduated with highest honors, 80% have gone on to college and 15% have joined
the armed forces and serve their country with distinction and honor.
VBCA is a vital part of the church ministry
of the Pentecostal Life Center of Virginia Beach. The Pastor is ultimately
responsible for this school. The Principal, teachers, and other staff members
are employees of the Pentecostal Life Center.
